Report-Location

Post by JeffPat »

LXBeams and LXFree us a cartesian coordinate system with the x and y axis as usual. Positive Y is towards the top of the screen and would normally be upstage in a drawing. Negative Y is towards the bottom of the screen (downstage). Positive X is to the right of the screen. With upstage at the top, this is stage left or coté cour. Negative X is to the left of the drawing. This is stage right or coté jardin.

            +Y (US)

-X (SR)    *         +X (SL)

             -Y (DS)

The origin point (*) is set in the Inspector's Document tab. At the top are choices between setup and coordinates. Under coordinates, there are several ways to set the origin (0,0). Probably the most useful is the popup menu. There is a command called "Next Click Sets Origin". After selecting this menu item, the next click on the drawing will establish (0, 0).

Note: Perhaps this is not the question asked or someone can answer better in French.

The original post is asking that the location column in reports include an annotation indicating the direction of the distance when positions have their layout set to center.

You can do this with the latest build of LXBeams, 5.1.1. On the downloads page, under "Other Downloads" you will find the link to this version.
