tutorials for lx console? total beginer.

Post by jamix1 »

I'm a total beginner when it comes to lighting and LX console. basically i want to build cue lists in lx console and have them fired by Qlab.

so far. i can send midi Go messeges from qlab via IAC driver and LX consol see's them. but what I cant seem to do is get lx console to play my cues.

SO how do i build a cue list that works, because im obviously not doing it properly in LX console.

Any Help greatly appreciated.

First I suggest you study some basics about the software: http://lx.claudeheintzdesign.com/lxCons ... indow.html

Then you'll find its quite simple.

What might be complicating is that you can do it in more than one way, but I guess you will prefer to do it in "Live-mode".

So 1 : - connect to some DMX interface and make a pretty picture with you lights.

2: - when you're happy with what you see enter the command line and press the letter "R". That will then immediately expand to "record: "

3: - Write a number that you want to give your new preset.
(NOTE that it's an american software and they use dots where most other of us use commas so you can't write 1,5 for instance, but 1.5 is OK)

4:- press enter.

And voila - you have recorded a cue.

It will have the default up and down times which you can see in the well hidden "drawer"
http://lx.claudeheintzdesign.com/lxCons ... rawer.html

There you can change to whatever you find fitting.

Hope this gets you started.

Good luck!
:-)
