Memory Leak?

Post by chbalo »

Greetings,

I'm having what appears to be a memory leak in various versions of 3.5 up to the latest.

I'm on a 2011 macbook pro with 16 GB ram and a 1TB SSD.

I open the app and it starts eating up resources and my fans go crazy.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

It is not likely that your fans are the result of a memory leak. If this happens when you start the application, it is much more likely that this has to do with re-establishing an external connection, ethernet DMX, OSC or MIDI. There are somme preferences you can disable to test this. In particular, "Remember External Connections" and "Restore Live Output". You can disable these and see if it makes a difference. If this has to do with a particular file, disabling "Reopen last file when LXConsole starts" might indicate that the file was related to the cause of the issue.

Some details on your particular setup might help to see if the problem can be re-created. Important details are the exact versions of LXConsole and OS X as well as any external connections you are using, DMX USB Pro, ethernet DMX, OSC or MIDI.
