Origin change

Post by lanternz »

Is there some way to maintain instrument focus points if the drawing is shifted and a new point of origin set? I recently had to shift a drawing around on a page after I had carefully focused the whole rig, only to discover that the instrument centers were now out by a massive amount, they appear to still relate to the old point of origin.

The latest build of LXBeams 10510.1 has a preference in the beams tab that will cause all focus points to move when the origin is changed.

While the example that prompted this thread shows a need for the new preference, it could also cause unintended consequences. For instance, consider a situation where lights are drawn and focussed first. Then, the origin is set afterwards. With the new preference enabled, changing the origin will move all the beams. Which is probably not desired!

For this reason, there's a new build that does not have the new preference enabled by default--the same as it was before the option was added.
