Is there a way to preserve the relative position of fields in the R&R function? I find for example that if I have positioned the color field towards the front of the instrument that the R&R function puts the position towards the back of the repeated instrument. In addition is there some way that the copy field position command could have a reverse function for instruments on the other side of centre of the pipe?

This is fixed in the latest build , Version 5.5.3 (14909.1). Not sure when the info fields stopped being mirrored for R&R. But, it is back.
Also, there are two new menu commands to mirror copied field locations. So, you can copy field locations from one end of a pipe, then mirror them, and paste them into lights on the other end. Copied info field locations can also can be mirrored top/bottom.
Note that mirroring a second time restores the stored locations to what they were when they were copied.
