Layer question
I have a drawing with 5 different layers of set plans on it for the 5 different scenes in an opera I am doing. My usual procedure is to scale the CAD plan at 1:50 in Vectorworks and then simply copy and paste into a layer in LxBeams (latest version). This gives me detailed and very accurate plans th...

A new problem with 3.9.3. I can not edit text in areas such as the key block. I can select the text block but if I double click to edit the text I get a very brief editable text indication (blue background) before the text closes. I assume this might be new to .3 as I did not notice this happening i...

I think I have found a way to crash 3.9.2. Select a light, hold the tab key down to step through the info fields. Briefly release the tab key, select another light and hold tab again. I can get it to crash regularly with this sequence of key strokes - initially found quite by accident while being la...

I saw that your page lists a preview version of 4 - is that 3.9.2? I have that and have been having some crashes. Haven't quite nailed it down yet but some were to do with using the enter key while editing in the inspector. Another has been while trying to open an old and very large file (13.9MB). I...

Vectorworks is a full fledged CAD app that happens to have a lighting module added on to it. It does pretty drawings. LxPro is a tool for lighting designers. One thing I don't think you can do on VW is map a position. That is LxPro can calculate and display your beam image from the lighting position...

Trying to open a 2002 file. It opens the app but fails to open the drawing. Inspector message: Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-30773 "The document “Don Giovanni ADL 2002 plot” could not be opened. " (kURLInvalidURLError) UserInfo=0x610000468c40 {NSLocalizedDescription=The document...

Opening older files
I have some old shows on file - some from as far back as 1994. These files were exported from an old version of Maclux and I have them stored as .lxx files. All of them had defaulted to open with "Equation Editor"? However I am able to open them with LxBeams and save them again and now the...

ETC asc issues
Anyone else had problems reading asc files? I recently opened an asc file from a show I had just lit on an ETC EOS. The operator gave me the esf file plus an asc. When I opened the asc in LxConsole I became quite concerned that the show was no longer working as I had left it. All my FOH channels had...

I had tried with your new turn off info selection of info fields but the issue persisted. I had also deselected. What fixed the issue in was your suggestion of using auto arrange. I normally use this function but probably not until I am further down the track with a drawing. I am not quite sure why ...

Version 3.5.2. I am having trouble selecting some instruments. I have a tight stack of par cans and when I click the center of 1 instrument the instrument above it gets selected. In order to select the correct instrument I find I have to click about 50cm in front of the instrument. This only seems t...
