The LX series of software tools for lighting design is currently being developed by Claude Heintz Design. The first application in the series to be released is LXFree, an application for drawing light plots and generating paperwork that runs on Mac OS X.
The second tool in the series is LXAscii, a web based tool for working with USITT ASCII cue data. LXAscii can be used with any browser that supports Java(tm).
Additional applications based on the LX Foundation are planned for the future. These will include a set of tools for editing the databases used by LXFree. The LX Foundation, on which LXFree is built, is designed to be flexible and extensible. This makes it possible to use LX technology with other platforms and operating systems.
There are now forums for the discussion of LX.
