About MacLux Pro v2.1
MacLux Pro v 2.1 Requires Carbon. This software will run under operating systems including OS X which has "carbon" built-in. MacLux Pro also runs under versions of Mac OS Classic (OS 8.6 to 9.2) with CarbonLib installed in the Extensions folder. MacLux Pro has been tested with operating systems up to 10.3. Preferred system software version is 9.2.1.
After MacLux Pro has been installed, you will be required to enter your name, the serial number of the software, and the software key before it will run. You will find the serial number and software key in the materials that came with MacLux Pro. By entering the software key, you are explicitly agreeing to the terms of the software license.
This installer will place a copy of the MacLux Pro application package in the location you select. The application package contains library and documentation files.
Upgrade Info:
If you alredy have a version of MacLux Pro, there are several things you want to note:
MacLux Pro v2.1 is packaged as an application bundle. You may want to remove other copies of MacLux Pro especially any demo versions before installing this new software.
You must have your old serial number to obtain a software key for the new MacLux Pro. Version 1.7 and 2.0 users will find their serial number by selecting "About MacLux Pro" from the Apple Menu. You can obtain a key for your serial number by e-mailing it to keyrequest@macluxpro.com.
MacLux Pro 2.1 files include new printing records that are not compatible with older versions of MacLux Pro, including v2.0. MacLux Pro v2.0 and later uses an enhanced file format that includes features not found in MacLux Pro v1.7, v1.5, or earlier files. When plots are saved in 2.1 format, you will no longer be able to open these files using older versions of MacLux Pro. Plots that use symbol sets other than the standard USITT palette, should only be opened when the startup palette is set to that symbol set (international or studio). These plots will be converted to the new format where the palettes are customizable for each plot.
This installer contains an updated prefs file with enhanced libraries. These libraries are contained within the MacLux Pro application package. To replace the standard libraries with other customized libraries, you must replace the "MacLux Pro Prefs" file. Using the control key and clicking on the MacLux Pro application package allows you to choose to reveal the package contents using the contextual menu. Once the package is open, you can drag you prefs file to replace the one that was included in the package.
If you are upgrading from a version prior to 1.7, you may throw away your old "MacLux Pro Help" file from the preferences folder in your system folder. MacLux Pro uses Apple Help through the Help menu. Additional copies of the documentation may be found on the CD.
License to use this copy of MacLux Pro replaces and revokes any previous license issued.

v2.1b22 online help updated and indexed.
v2.1b21 fixed a problem where a dialog could get stuck behind another window making it appear that MacLux Pro was frozen. Hopefully fixed a problem with the display of custom symbols in the symbol chooser. Added hilight of text in Select Lights dialog.
v2.1b20 improved About MacLux Pro window for better handling of background processes. Hopefully fixed two outstanding issues where the palettes would sometimes be blank when switching to MacLux Pro and an issue where the window hilight would get out of sync and force a switch out of MacLux Pro and back to make a window activate.
v2.1b19 fixed so that MacLux Pro asks to save library changes before quitting under OS-X. Updated standard library (Prefs file) for Source Four 50, 36, 26, and 19 which had hidden characters in the color frame field which prevented correct calculation of sheets in color list.
v2.1b18 extended expiration through September 2004. Will now display a warning instead of preventing app from running as this is probably the final version. Fixed Select Lights dialog under OS-X. Added Select After Drawing preference. Fixed default location for opening/saving files under OS-X, should now be the last location used. Made hidden lines visible when drawing/dragging.
v2.1b17 extended expiration to August 2004. No problems reported with 2.1b16.
v2.1b16 MacLux Pro Picker is no longer in the preferences. Set Color uses the Apple Picker. The MacLux Pro Picker is now available through the Explore Color command and searches for matches to colors in the Color Library. Also fixed a bug where MacLux Pro could crash during an operation with multiple selected objects.
v2.1b15 Implemented live feedback when dragging the thumb of scrollbars.
v2.1b14 Included new resolution independent display method for imported PICTs. Trapped errors during display of PICT Layers.
v2.1b13 Included safe quit trap so that program will not quit if an error occurs. Previously, if an error occured during a save operation after a quit command, there was no chance for recovery. This carries the remote possibility that MacLux Pro will encounter a situation where it simply will not quit and will need to be forced to quit. The trade off is that there will be every chance to recover a file if an error occurs while saving.
